Reiki

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

I was born and raised in Cicero, IL – the second born in a family of eight children. My entire life has been spent trying to find ways to lend a helping hand and a healing heart at every given opportunity. I have always felt I was a natural healer, and my desire to help those in need has led me on this amazing path of energy healing.

I began my journey into the sacred art of Reiki at the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts, with a nudge from an amazing friend. Since then, I have continued on to become a Usui Reiki Master and Instructor, as well as a La-Ho Chi Practitioner.

My teachers have shown me more than I had ever dreamed possible.  Each and every moment has been a blessing, and I look forward to many new opportunities to experience, learn, and grow.

As a child my passion was to creatively express myself thru dance and music.  I have studied Jazz, Tap and Ballet for many years.  Today as an adult I pull from this same passion to use movement, music and life as tools to express what is in my heart.  By consistently practicing yoga I have found a way to relieve stress, the pain of arthritis and overcome depression.  It is my goal and passion to continue this path and help others, children and adults alike, to open their hearts and find their home on the mat and off.

Recognizing that the key to a happy, productive and satisfying life involves a holistic approach to both body, mind, and spirit, I have continued my education and now offer Holistic Nutritional Consulting and Life Coaching.  I truly enjoy using this combination of skills to help others reach their full potential.
