Holistic Nutrition

13794574_sAn ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

The term holistic means “whole” and refers to the integration of the mind, body, and spirit. Holistic nutrition is the focus of biochemistry in the human body and the importance of creating balance.

Improper or poor food choices can lead to countless illnesses and can impact the mind, body and spirit. A healthy diet includes organic whole foods, preferably locally grown and consumed in their natural season. For example, peaches found in your local grocery store in December are most likely not organic, nor locally grown. Chances are they are imported from somewhere outside the country and laden in pesticides and preservatives.

By focusing on organic foods which are nutrient-dense while also avoiding foods that have been depleted of their natural nutrients through packing or preparation, you are establishing a base for optimum health and well-being.

In order to combat the negative effects of the many toxins in our environment (car emissions, household cleaners, industrial waste, and pesticides) we require a wide array of vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, and essential fats that come from whole, organic, unprocessed seasonal foods. Nutritional supplements are also an important tool to maintain optimal health, resist disease, and keep your mind and body in peak condition.

Let us show you how to incorporate holistic nutrition in your life to help you live longer, healthier and happier.

Hey ZenLifers, this is Kris Leon one of the guides here at ZenLife Yoga

Are you or someone you know experiencing any symptoms like:

- hyper vigilance, that feeling of always being on-guard

- do you often notice an increased heart rate, maybe anxiety?

- Do you often feel tense, nervous, on edge, even quick to anger?

- do you have issues with sleep, insomnia, maybe even nightmares?

Are you experiencing the daily stress of modern life? Maybe like over 1/2 Americans you are experiencing significant to even chronic levels of stress?

Have you, like 1/4 of Americans, experienced a traumatic event in the last year? Are you dealing with Post Trauma Stress and would like to change that to Post Trauma Growth?

Have you heard the studies showing that Yoga and Meditation are helpful to easing these symptoms? Maybe you have been reluctant to try Yoga for all the common reasons.

One last question; Did you know there is a wonderful form of Yoga where you can lay comfortably with pillows and blankets? No postures, no sweating, no preztels, wearing comfortable clothes and snoring is even considered a compliment!

Friday, July 28th, from 6-7pm I will be guiding a Yoga Nidra or Guided Rest class. Think of it as a gentle, verbal handhold to deeper and deeper states of relaxation offering a deep restoration to your true nature, the peace filled self. We have it on the schedule out at zenlifestudio.com, just sign up and bring a friend. space and blankets are limited, you are welcome to bring your own blanket and pillows.

Namaste 💚🕉💚
